My Top 10 Blog Posts on Pregnancy and Motherhood (June ’09)

I know it’s difficult to sift through all of the pregnancy information and stories of motherhood on the Internet. Even if you know exactly what you’re looking for, you might never find it in the huge world of the web. I went on my own search for useful information when I was pregnant and found a handful of sites that I kept going back to again and again. These are some of my favorite blogs (along with more recent posts) and I want to share them with you so you can avoid that annoying Internet search frustration.
Below are 10 of my favorites. The posts cover an array of topics, but each is valuable. I’ll continue add new Top 10 lists whenever I have a good collection to post. Enjoy.
- Heather Armstrong at Dooce shares a funny entry about the “appropriate behavior for a pregnant woman.” You mean you can’t eat raw chicken and run three times a week?
- Vicki Glembocki at Blunt Force Mama on Oprah.com reminds us in her post When Mothers Attack that moms are always being judged. Fortunately, Vicki and her wise mother were able to find the perfect comeback. You’ll probably need one someday too (if you haven’t already).
- Cara over at Baby Bunching offers a nice confidence boost for the summer reminding us that pregnant girls can rock a swimsuit, too.
- The Young Mommy of two makes a powerful defense argument for Kate Gosselin of Jon and Kate Plus 8. Do you agree with her?
- At Mom Dot, they’re displaying a very helpful video about how to breastfeed in public. Do you know your rights? How can you keep some privacy even in a public place?
- At Momversation the guest panelists are asked a very interesting question: “Which Parent Has the Better Deal?” My guess is that every parent thinks the other one has the better deal!
- Kathy at Chief Family Officer shares some money-saving tips for restaurants and diapers. The $25 restaurant coupon would be perfect for a date night.
- The Mama Saga reveals great tips for “How to Breastfeed (Or Just Look Like You Know What You Are Doing).” The best part is all the awesome links to help you prepare for whatever breastfeeding challenges come your way. Knowledge is power, right?
- Kara over at Notes from the Nest shares great advice on selecting the right stroller. She’ll also clue you in on some insider discount secrets.
- Heather at Hip Chick Blog otherwise known as the Natural Childbirth blog, posted the most adorable laughing baby video. If you want to put an instant smile on your face, check it out. Thank you for the happy pill, Heather!

June 9th, 2009 at 11:08 amThis is a great list of articles. Wish we had had this when our 2 kids were infants — especially the article on selecting strollers.
June 9th, 2009 at 4:25 pmI’m now 19 and experiencing being a dad. I must say although it feels good it’s still hard. I knew it wouldn’t be easy but to be honest, the hard part is having to balance time. My daughter is great and makes managing her never dreadful. -Teen dad
